Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who participated in the presidential race in the USA, would announce his participation in the race with the Twitter Space broadcast organized with Elon Musk.
However, there was a problem due to a technical glitch on the platform.
After the incident, Chief of Engineering Foad Dabiri on Twitter announced that he was resigning from the company.
Dabiri, the engineering lead for Twitter’s Growth organization, said in a tweet that the company had “two different eras” before and after it was acquired by the multi-billionaire last year.
Dabiri said the transition to Twitter’s “2.0” was huge and rapid. “To say it was challenging in the beginning would be an understatement,” he said.
Dabiri did not specify why he decided to leave Twitter and whether this was related to issues with DeSantis activity on the platform.
Twitter did not make a statement about Dabiri’s departure.
“Working with @elonmusk was extremely educational and it was enlightening to see how his principles and vision are shaping the future of this company,” Dabiri said.
When the Twitter conversation began on Wednesday evening, hundreds of thousands of Twitter users left the platform due to serious problems.
The Florida governor is seen as the chief rival of former President Donald Trump to run as his party’s nominee in the 2024 general election.
