Cyril Gregory Buyanovsky and Douglas Robertson are charged with conspiracy, exporting controlled goods without a license, falsifying and failing to file electronic export information, and smuggling goods in violation of US law.
The accusations come after the US invasion of Ukraine began on February 24, 2022, after a sharp increase in sanctions and financial penalties against Russia.
It includes thousands of sanctions against people and companies, export controls over the Kremlin, computer chips and other products needed to equip a modern army.
The Justice Department said Buyanovsky and Robertson own and operate KanRus Trading Co., which allegedly supplies aircraft electronics to Russian companies and provides repair services for equipment used on Russian-made aircraft.
The indictment says that since 2020 they have conspired to evade US export laws by concealing and misrepresenting the true end users and destinations of their exports, and by shipping equipment through third-party countries.
