Two brothers, aged 6 and 3, took a tour of the Malaysian island of Langkawi in their parents’ car late Wednesday night.
The brothers, who lost control of the steering wheel and crashed into a lamppost, were caught by the local police.
It was revealed that the reason for the brothers’ late night outing was to buy a new toy car.
Langkawi police chief Shariman Ashari said they had received complaints about a silver Toyota Vios that the driver might have been “drunk”.
He said the children sneaked out of the house and got into the car while their mother was in the bathroom and their father was asleep.
Shariman added that they had traveled about 2.5 kilometers before the accident, in which the hood of the car was damaged.
The children escaped the accident without serious injuries.
