Two passenger planes came into contact at the airport in Tokyo, the runway was closed

The Ministry of Land Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) of Japan announced that Thai Airways and Eva Airways planes made contact at Haneda Airport.

According to the statement, the passenger planes of the two companies touched each other at around 11 am local time while moving on their wheels on the route of the rule road.

It was reported that there were 264 passengers on the Thai Airways flight and 207 passengers on the Eva Airways flight, and there were no injuries in the incident.

A part of the wing of the Thai Airways plane crashed to the ground near the contact point, public television NHK’s news footage reported.

A passenger on the Eva Airways flight told local media that he “feeled the impact of the collision before takeoff and the wing of the Thai Airways plane broke off the edge”.

The Civil Aviation Bureau announced that the operations of the two passenger planes were halted and “Runway A, with a length of 3,000 meters, was closed” for possible damage assessment.

All Nippon Airways (ANA) and Japan Airlines (JAL), one of the largest airlines in Japan, announced that some scheduled flights may be delayed.
