In the statement made by the IMF, it was stated that the IMF mission delegation and the Ukrainian authorities agreed at the technical level to provide a 48-month fund to support financial stability and economic recovery.
In the statement, it was stated that upon the request of the Ukrainian authorities, the IMF delegation led by Gavin Gray held talks with the Ukrainian authorities on a 4-year economic program in Warsaw on 8-15 March.
In the statement, which stated that the financing package is approximately 15.6 billion dollars, it was noted that the economic program in question is subject to the approval of the IMF Executive Directors Board and that the board is expected to evaluate it in the coming weeks.
On the other hand, US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen made a written statement regarding the agreement reached between Ukraine and the IMF on the new economic program.
Emphasizing that an ambitious and properly conditioned IMF program is critical to support Ukraine’s reform efforts, including strengthening good governance, addressing corruption risks and providing needed financial support, Yellen said she will also support the economic assistance provided by the United States and its partners.
