UN Secretary General Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric gave information about the ongoing conflicts in Sudan at the daily press conference.
Noting that the UN maintains its presence in Sudan, Dujarric stated that the mission operates from Port Sudan and said, “We continue to stand by the Sudanese people.” gave your message.
Dujarric stated that there are local personnel in the UN’s operations in Sudan, as in many countries, and that humanitarian aid is provided whenever there is an opportunity, but they are also obliged to protect their own personnel.
Noting that many different efforts are being made to bring the parties to the negotiating table, Dujarric said, “Of course, the first step is a ceasefire. According to the information we have, the conflicts continue, which naturally affects our ability to deliver humanitarian aid.” he said.
