In Deir ez-Zor, around 20 rocket attacks were carried out from the regions where Iran-backed foreign terrorist groups are present, to the Omer oil and Kuniko gas fields, where the US forces are stationed, as of the evening hours.
The aircraft observatory of the military opposition said, “After the said attacks, US warplanes carried out airstrikes on military points belonging to foreign terrorist groups backed by Iran in Deir ez-Zor and east of Elbukemal and Meyadin districts.”
US forces stationed in the Omar oil and Kuniko gas fields are also responding to military points where Iran-backed groups are located with weapons fired from land to land.
Since the morning hours, Iran-backed terrorist groups have been attacking the Omer oil and Kuniko gas facilities, where US soldiers are stationed, with drones and rockets.
Pentagon Spokesperson Ryder announced at the daily press conference that 10 rocket attacks were carried out on the base called Green Village by the USA in Deir ez-Zor yesterday at around 08:05 local time.
The US Department of Defense also announced that 1 contract personnel was killed and 1 contract personnel and 5 US soldiers were injured in the attack.
Iranian and Iranian-backed foreign terrorist groups are heavily involved in Deir ez-Zor
It is known that Iranian and Iranian-backed foreign terrorist groups have an intense presence in Elbukemal, Muhsan and al-Mayadin districts in the east of Deir ez-Zor.
The center and west of Deir ez-Zor province fell into the hands of the Assad regime after the withdrawal of the terrorist organization DEASH in November 2017, with the help of Iran-backed groups and Russia.
Iran-backed foreign terrorist groups, which have become the ground power of the regime, are most intensely present in Deir ez-Zor.
The Iranian, Iraqi, Lebanese, Afghan and Pakistani groups stationed in Deir ez-Zor, where Sunni Arabs live, are commanded by members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Army.
