Sullivan said that US President Joe Biden’s visit to Ukraine brought new aids including more ammunition and high technology within the scope of aid to this country.
“The United States today announced an additional $2 billion security aid package to Ukraine,” Sullivan said.
Regarding Ukraine’s demand for F-16 fighter jets, Sullivan noted that Ukraine is about to launch an important counterattack and they do not think that F-16s are key capabilities within the scope of these attacks.
“F-16s are not a matter of short-term warfare. It is a matter of long-term defense of Ukraine,” Sullivan said. He said that Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy also discussed the issue in this way.
The United States is expected to announce new sanctions on Russia on February 24, the anniversary of the war.
