Blinken answered questions from journalists at the State Department.
A journalist, pointing to the news of the Wall Street Journal about slowing down Iran’s nuclear program, said, “Is this true? According to your information, did they really slow down their nuclear program?” posed the question.
Blinken replied, “I cannot confirm the news you are talking about. Of course, I can say that we would welcome any steps Iran will take to reduce the really growing nuclear threat since the US withdrawal from the nuclear deal.” gave the answer.
Stating that there is currently no nuclear agreement between Iran and the United States, Blinken said, “We openly say that Iran needs to de-escalate in order to open up space for diplomacy.” said.
