USA completed the construction of 100-bed emergency hospital in Antakya

According to the information made by the US Embassy in Ankara, the field hospital was built with the help of the US European Navy, the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and the 633rd Surgical Response Corps, Langley Air Base, Medical Installation Support Team (MIST).

In addition to the emergency room in the emergency unit of the field hospital, there are two operating rooms and an intensive care unit.

The hospital’s emergency care unit and intensive care unit also have child care capacity.

The official handover of the hospital, which is expected to be completed in a week but completed in 5 days, to the Turkish authorities will take place tomorrow.

Brigadier General Andrew Priddy of the US Navy said, “As soon as we received the request for the field hospital, our team got to work and completed the construction and installation of the hospital in less than a week. The field hospital is another example of our commitment to helping our Turkish allies. I can’t be more proud of my team,” he said.

First Lieutenant Rylie Zuelch, one of the MIST team leaders, said, “It is an incredible honor to be able to help the Turkish people. It flatters your pride to be accepted so close and that people treat you with kindness. It was a very stimulating experience, I learned a lot. I’m glad I was able to help,” he said.
