White House National Security Council Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby answered journalists’ questions at an online press conference.
Kirby stated that they closely followed the results of the Presidential and 28th Term Parliamentary Elections held yesterday in Turkey and said, “We congratulate the Turkish people who peacefully put their demands to the ballot box.”
“President (Joe) Biden is looking forward to working with whoever wins,” said Kirby, emphasizing that Turkish people take their civic duty seriously by going to the polls.
Kirby pointed out that the election process is still ongoing and said that they did not want to make an early statement on the issue.
