Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan joint military exercise held

According to the statement made by the Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan, the Kalkan-2023 joint military exercise organized by the armed forces of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan in the Angren polygon near Tashkent has ended.

As part of the joint exercise that started last week, the armed forces of the two countries carried out land and air operations to neutralize the armed gangs that infiltrated the country illegally.

Nearly 100 soldiers from both countries participated in the joint exercise organized to detect and neutralize armed gangs. In addition to armored vehicles and military equipment, unmanned aerial vehicles and military helicopters were also used within the scope of the exercise.

The last stage of the joint exercise was followed by the Minister of Defense of Uzbekistan Bahadır Kurbanov and the Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan Ruslan Jaksilikov.

Every year, the two countries hold joint military exercises with the participation of their armed forces.

The defense ministries of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan signed the agreement, which includes a military cooperation plan for the first time in their history, in August 2017, and the agreement entered into force in February 2018.
